A few years later the damaged car known as the new Mach, has been rebuilt by his father, Daisuke Hibiki, to participate in a Grand Prix. This time, however, to protect the driver from possible accidenst, the new car is equipped with a safety system called "Safety Seven" with seven guarding devices. Also, it is loaded with the engine "X" that miraculously survived the tragic accident. Now its driver is Go, younger brother of Kenichi, who is determined to succeed. In fact, he successfully participates in Grand Prix races to become a top racer in the world.

* Earlier attempts were been made to bring this to the U.S. under the title Speed Racer 2000. It has not been screened on television, however the first episode was dubbed into English and shown at various conventions. It was also released in low quality on an American Speed Racer CD-ROM.
